CQC upgrade service ratings in all three services in Staffordshire

Royal Stoke UCC uplifted by a highly unusual two ratings

Significant improvement in Vocare services since acquisition

Totally plc (AIM:TLY), the provider of a range of out-of-hospital services to the healthcare sector in the UK, is delighted to announce that its Royal Stoke Urgent Care Centre, part of the Vocare group (“Vocare”), has recently been rated as ‘Good’ overall following an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (“CQC”).

In an almost unprecedented move, Vocare has improved the Royal Stoke Urgent Care Centre (“UCC”) service by two CQC ratings in six months, moving it from ‘Inadequate’ to ‘Good’. It also improved the rating of both the GP Out of Hours (“OOH”) and NHS 111 services to ‘Good’, meaning that Staffordshire is now rated ‘Good’ across the board.

Following the rerating, Totally is pleased to confirm that there are now no longer any ‘Inadequate’ ratings across the entirety of the Vocare group’s 24 services.

Vocare Limited, one of the UK’s leading national specialist providers of urgent care services, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Totally and manages NHS 111, GP Out of Hours and Urgent Care Centre services for Staffordshire from the Central Region’s Head Office called Staffordshire House .

Wendy Lawrence, CEO of Totally, said:

“We are extremely pleased that the work carried out to make significant improvements to Vocare’s services at UCC North Staffordshire, since its previous inspection in April, has been duly recognised by the CQC. The team is incredibly proud of the service they offer and this upgrade is testament to their continued determination to improve and  provide the best possible service.

“The upgrade of the Royal Stoke UCC marks a significant milestone for the Company as it now means that we no longer carry any ‘Inadequate’ CQC ratings. This highlights the considerable and tangible progress that Vocare has made to all of its services in just one year since its acquisition in October 2017. These fantastic results demonstrate the Company’s ability to integrate its subsidiaries and ensure that they deliver on the Group’s ambitions of becoming a leading provider of out-of-hospital care and the partner of choice for the NHS.”

Bob Holt, Chairman of Totally said:

“The upgrade on all performance measures is a testament to Wendy, our CEO, and the senior management team’s ability to provide the necessary leadership and expertise to ensure we provide quality care and services. The Board and I would like to thank all the staff members for their continued efforts. Our partnership with the NHS continues to provide value for money and improved services to patients and service users.”

Out-of-Hospital services include care in the community, GP surgeries, patients’ homes, prisons and other public sector organisations, places of work as well as mobile locations and urgent care solutions.

The Company is currently engaged in delivering a progressive ‘buy and build’ consolidation strategy within the UK’s fragmented healthcare market and looks to further capitalise on the attractive opportunities that its disruptive, outcome-based, outsourced healthcare service model offers, to ultimately deliver value to shareholders as it continues to build critical mass.
